The Seagull Banner

We rose early and went to the library.20140729-083622-30982300.jpg
So we have seen the Book of Kells and learned all about it, and all about Brian Boru and the Battle of Clontarf all over again. I am beginning to feel as if I was there myself.
An interlude for coffee and birthday cake followed. It was the birthday of my Aunt.
For more manuscripts we set off to Dublin Castle, which is unexpectedly colourful – we are used to grey eighteenth-century houses – and the Chester Beatty Library, and its second-century New Testament mss. This was very exciting.
And then – a pattern is discernible here – we had a birthday lunch.
