BRONTISSIMO

BRONTESAURUS
fossil record of a miracle
Bone by Bone
Word for Word
Three Women writing the Past into the Future
Line by Line
Listen to the Wildfell of your heart
Do not betray what you love
The earth opens like a book
You are come back to me then?
BRONTISSIMO

This is the Brontë Stone in Thornton cemetery. The inscription is by Jeanette Winterson.

There are four Brontë stones: the others are for Charlotte, Emily, and Anne. The Charlotte Stone is in Thornton village at the house where the sisters were born. The Emily Stone is on Thornton Moor, between Thornton and Haworth. I walked there, but the stone eluded me altogether; this seemed quite typical of Emily. The Anne Stone is in Haworth. The Brontë Stones were a project of the Bradford Literature Festival in 2018.
